Is There Any Secret Ingredient To Success?
My two cents on what defines Success.
I am not successful !……..
……YET!!
But who does not want to be, right ?
But what is success ?
Will you receive an E-mail one day that “ You Reached success”….
Quite Possible , but is that it ?
So, let me deconstruct Success according to my understanding.
To me success cannot be measured, but at the same time it is predefined by a set of standards by individuals of the society to judge upon other individuals about whether they should be given the recognition of being successful or not.
Individuals succumb to those standards and let others predefine their own success barrier.
It reminds me of a quote from the movie “The Dark Knight”. It goes as…
“Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just… do things.” ~ The Joker — Heath Ledger
With that reference I think people or individuals enjoy that exhilarating high or adventure that they endure in their journey to reach those standards and since we as human beings are of-course much more evolved than a dog or sensible unlike The Joker, we are never satisfied of staying at one place, we aim for the next big or successful standard and run for it.
We technically outsmarted ourselves into thinking of an illusionary Utopia.
So, success depends on people to people. Their perception of reality.
The middle class might want a car, a rich man might think of buying a private-jet but a poor person just wants food. Basically it depends on people and their individual state which is also set by the society. A sense of that accomplishment of standard is what constitutes success I believe.
So, by my predefinitions, first of all, lots of sober and decent thoughts like a healthy and balanced life without much worry, with no major attachments whatsoever & surrounded by loved ones, with whom living a simple and complete life while contributing to the society comes to my mind. Living life to the fullest is what we all aspire.
But keeping at par with reality and standards set by the society, I left behind a necessary evil, without which the modern world won’t survive. Money & this form of Capital brings other Materialistic Luxurious Possessions , all of which can be bought by Money. The amount of capital you have and assets you acquire as a result of that becomes your status symbol and like an indirect mode of communication.
So apart from the sober and decent ideas of success, Money is necessary, dearly in this world we live in and that has become the universal truth, everything comes from money, from clothes we wear , to food we eat, shelter or the roof over our head and even a good night’s sleep , literally everything…So yeah money is necessary. So being a bit materialistic is not bad I believe.
Regardless of what people says, money can buy you happiness, to a much larger extent I believe.
As the legend himself Mr. Warren Buffet said while being asked in an interview, What appealed to him about being rich ? & he non-challantly said, I want to be independent and able to do what he does everyday and money lets him achieve that reality.
“You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.” ~ Warren Buffet.
And quite honestly , I wanna do the same thing and live a life not only of fulfilment & service to humanity but working around businesses, multiplying money, dealing with people, solving problems and eating delicious food without getting fat [ Who does not want that !].
Being Wealthy and healthy with a pinch of “Rich legacy & Pedigree” status added to my standard will be my ultimate dish and my journey’s (which comprises of) core values, learnings, Negotiating with people from all walks of life , handling businesses and other important aspects while creating an impact for the greater cause will be my recipe for success, well curated & prepared by me and with my utmost belief and careful strategies.
Pinch yourself if you’re just day dreaming about it like me and start working your arse off now.
And even after that I do not want to be bounded by my own barriers and standards, I wanna achieve more and hence create more beautiful dishes of success if necessary.
So, Success is limitless and an infinite concept of an imaginary & yet to reach high standard or what people call status quo.
Last but not the least, since we all know that we do not live in an Egalitarian society and rather a world run by Capitalists , we all should have a healthy bit of ego or we’ll get tossed around.
